
Dezjuan Thomas
Through attending numerous family functions acquired an instinctive ear for music with a natural to move to its rhythms. Dezjuan trained and performed with a local dance school entitled United Dance Productions (UDP). Through UDP, he performed in numerous events including the Premier’s Concert, Bermuda Music Festival (alongside Beyonce, Wyclef Jeans and Erykah Badu) and numerous private functions. Upon graduating from Ryerson University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Performance Dance Program, he was able to work with some of Canada’s local dance companies namely, Collective Of Black Artist (COBA) [Toronto], Ballet Creole (Toronto), Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (DJD) [Calgary] and fellow community groups in both Calgary & Toronto. Some of these companies enabled him to network and gain both training and experience with some of Canada’s best Afro-Caribbean communities. Traditional African Dance training is of significant importance to Mr. Thomas. He remains stimulated with what the future holds.
