Delton Frank: A Tobago Experience
Dancers will go through a folk warm up with isolations and movement exercises relating to Caribbean dance, specifically from the island of Tobago. Dancers will be taken across the floor with movements from the reel dance, jig and Congo belé, all these dances are from the rich cultural heritage of Tobago, and danced to the tambrin drum. After the across the floor segment the dancers will be treated to a center floor routine and choreography leading up to a dance piece to be showcased at the final day performance. At the end of each class dancers will be engaged in a discussion about the culture, movements and traditions of the class they experienced and general questions about Tobago’s culture.
